Cloudy…with a chance of creativity

Finding Clarity in the Fog of Overthinking

Some mornings, it feels like I wake up with a mind overflowing with thoughts.

On these days, I find myself caught between the desire to tackle everything and the overwhelming urge to do nothing at all. My mind becomes a blizzard of scattered thoughts.

This is the opaqueness of the mind.

When a torrent of thoughts, fears, and mundane tasks cloud the lightness of being, it’s tempting to give in—to dismiss the day as uncreative and uninspired.

Yet, sometimes I manage to persuade myself to navigate through this haze, trusting that behind all the fog, something is quietly brewing.

The uncertainty brings fear. What if this unknown disrupts my path? Could it turn into a valuable idea, or might it bring embarrassment or sickness?

However, fear isn't the sole inhabitant of my mind—excitement simmers there too. Could today's revelation change me? Might it be the missing piece in the puzzle of my life? Will it leave me feeling fulfilled when the day ends?

The only escape from this dense fog of overthinking is to release it all.

Forget the day’s expectations.

Stop idolizing myself.

Abandon the chase for fame.

Disregard the outcome.

Just let that dense wall of thoughts exist for a moment. Allow it to linger until it naturally clears, possibly unveiling a valuable insight.

Or perhaps it won’t.

The key is to let the opaqueness envelop you and to recognize that it's simply part of the creative journey.
